ONLINE TESTIMONIALS

Hear why our online clients love training with us remotely in the comfort and convenience of their own home!

Helena Jovanoska

Helena really loves training with people online who are her own age. As she got to know the people she trains with, she felt part of the community where people understand what she's going through. She loves training at home and the convenience it provides her. This helps her stay consistent and helps her stick with the program.

"Life before training with TBFT was sedentary. There was no exercise whatsoever. I couldn't walk for 10 or 15 minutes before my hips starting to ache. I was worried  I was getting old before my time."

"I had huge reservations. I wondered if I would get the same benefit out of an online program as I do from finding my own online trainer."

"I enjoy the interaction with the online program. I find the exercises and the training, wasn't hard, but it wasn't easy. It was especially catered for me."

"For the very first time, with TBFT, I really felt that I was a person and not a number. I felt like you were actually interested in how I was tracking with my training. When I missed sessions, you would always check in."

Jane Urquhart

After watching her own mothers health decline as she aged, Jane knew it was time to make the change. She made the commitment to just try it out and see how it goes and has never looked back.

"After a year of doing the strength training I'm definitely stronger, less flab, better balance. I can feel myself having a stronger core. That makes me feel good."

"Mentally I would not be overstating it to say that this routine of the exercise has been critical for me as my mother's health has worsened and I've had to do more. This hour twice a week with you guys is really an important investment in me."

"My whole experience with you and Mitch and the team has been about understanding me and being prepared and ready to adjust to what I need".

"It's personal there's a bit of banter between us. There's encouragement to get us through. Exercises that extend us, that are not impossible to do."

"Even though it's online, you're watching us and guiding us. Having that live feedback has been fantastic".

"The investment is worth every cent. I've had memberships where I've not gone and not connected. The thing I love about this is the pricing is reasonable; the service is whatever you want for it. There is a lot of variation available. It's personalized and it's in your lounge room."

Lois Tharratt

Before training with us Lois was having a lot of back issues. It got to the point where she couldn't cook meals because she couldn't stand for long enough. She couldn't go for walks. Going for a walk she'd have to stop every 20 meters. She was booked in for surgery and on a waiting list. Luckily she found us in the meant time, started doing some strength work and was able to avoid back surgery. Well done Lois, it's so amazing to see you living your best life almost pain free now!

"It got so bad that I thought I was going to have to have surgery. I was on the waiting list. In that time, I saw this ad for TBFT and a girlfriend and I joined together."

"I was 58 or 59, for about 8 months I started doing the program. 8 months in I had my appointment with my surgeon. I ditched my surgeon. It's just been amazing. I've been given a gift."

Andrea Liddi

Andrea has lost 10 kilos, but also her mindset has also improved. Her eating habits have improved, she no longer relies on sugar! She attends both studio and online sessions with us. She loves the sessions, she enjoys the community of the people who she trains with. She loves the trainer app that helps keep her motivated and accountable.

"Before I started, I was a bit heavier, I just was feeling so sluggish. Not sleeping, my hips were aching, my knees and my ankles. It just gets you down. I wasn't feeling good about myself."

"Starting was hard, but I can definitely feel the benefits. The consistency has helped too".

"When I first started, I wasn't really moving much, now I look forward to it each week. The improvement in my fitness and my aches and pains has improved so much. I'm definitely happier."

"I feel better in what I wear. My fitness has improved."

"I'm putting fitness as a priority now!"

Annette McDonald

Annette has been training with us for over 6 years. She started training in the studio with us, and then moved to our online program when she moved houses and could no longer train in our Melbourne studio. She loves the online environment and loves the inclusivity of our program. She loves the age-appropriate workouts and the support she receives from other participants in our program.

"Before I started training with TBFT I was working and being non active. I was walking and doing lifting at work but not doing anything outside of that. A couple of my health conditions started to impact on what I could do. In the past I had gone to a physical gym, but I found that a bit intimidating. I didn't feel like I fit into that category. I decided to quite all that as I wasn't motivated enough to keep doing that. I kept comparing myself to other people. I also had grandchildren and was finding it hard to play some of the games that they wanted to play, I wanted to still be able to still do things with them that they enjoyed, but I was struggling with balancing."

"As soon as I saw the 50+, that sounded a lot more like me, because I was well over 50 at that stage. Rob was very encouraging around my needs and health concerns so that was the driving factor in me giving it a go."

"I felt really comfortable, I didn't feel intimidated, I felt like it was OK to be as I was."

"Motivation and consistency is one of the highest attributes that TBFT give to me. Rob especially is always available if you ever want to have a chat. He's always motivating and encouraging and supportive of what's going on in my life."

Camile De Burgh

Camile just needed a little help and motivation to get going again. This turned out to be the best thing for her. Having a trainer has kept her motivated and consistent. This has been the key to her success. Having her trainers there every step of the way is the reason why returning back to physical activity has been such a huge success.

"I was feeling pretty lethargic and not feeling all that good about exercising and moving. I hadn't been well, so going to a gym didn't really appeal. I wasn't in a great place exercise wise. I was hesitant about joining something online, and was a bit wary about the cost to start with."

"But I've found because it's interactive, you can see the other participants and it's live this makes a huge difference. You're committed to showing up at a time every morning. It's good value for money for me, it's four sessions a week for me the two sessions, plus yoga plus Pilates. I've loved every minute of it. I'm a big fan!"

Deb Elms

Initially hesitant due to her long work hours, Deb found committing to training surprisingly rewarding. The routine has transformed her perspective on exercise and boosted her energy levels, self-esteem, and overall well-being. She enjoys the convenience of exercising at home alongside peers who share her age and fitness objectives.

"Life before I started with online training was very lazy. I didn't do any exercise at all. I was convinced to do online training and it's probably the best thing I've ever done. At my own convenience, it works out well. Not having to go to a gym and feeling uncomfortable. I feel comfortable in my own home."

"I think it's the accountability of it. Knowing that I'm training twice per week. I feel like I need to prove to the trainer that I can do it, but most importantly prove to myself that I can do it".

"Being comfortable in your own surroundings, not feeling uncomfortable with other young people around, is the best thing ever. Doing it in your own home."

"I'm not as stressed, im controlling stress better. My heads clearer. The exercise and the mobility sessions that I'm doing have changed my whole way of thinking".

Deborah Blake

Deborah loves that TBFT gives her age-appropriate workouts. She loves training alongside other people of similar age and capability as her, with similar challenges, experiences and interests.

"I have been training since January 2022. Before that I felt yuck, I didn't feel fit. I was working at a desk job and no matter how hard I tried to make sure I had plenty of walking and exercise in my day, my work was so full on-that a short walk at lunch time wasn't making me feel that great. I was overweight, I was eating the wrong things. I wasn't looking after my health at all. I was just going from work to home, doing what I had to do, and not thinking about me.

"I knew I needed to do something more. I saw something on Facebook, it wasn't a scam. I checked it out...I thought let's give this a go and see what it's like".

"One of the things I really like about TBFT is that you have a team of trainers, and it keeps me accountable, it keeps me on track, fantastic advice. The trainers adjust the program accordingly."

Gail Graham

Gail has used the strength in both her upper body and lower body to enjoy her holidays more. She now goes on longer hikes, using the strength built through training. What an amazing reason to want to get fitter and stronger! We love watching clients like Gail use their newfound fitness and strength to really enjoy life and life it to its fullest!

"Weve had an amazing four months on the road traveling Western Australia up to the top end and across and down the center. How happy I was that we could actually enjoy all the challenges that were put before us. We've done a lot of bush walking, rock climbing, hiking to get to the beautiful waterfalls. A lot of grade five level stuff."

"I was able to hold my own, my upper body strength to support myself during the climbs was absolutely fantastic."

"The strength in my legs, was awesome and it's a testament to the program because I certainly wouldn't have been able to achieve half of what we did. So yeah, I'm pretty wrapped".

Irma Groothuis

After a health scare Irma decided to take action. As a nurse Irma saw many patients her own age and younger and having trouble getting out of bed. This was enough to prompt Irma to take action. Having a trainer to correct her made all the difference. She had been trying to do things on You-Tube before hand and really needed the confirmation she was doing things right. Irma made the exercise and dietary changes that resulted in you reversing her diabetes! Well done!

"Before I started training I thought I was pretty fit doing netball and walking a bit. But then when I started training I realised that was quite limiting. I feel much stronger since I've done the program, feeling fitter in general. But the stronger feeling is what I really like."

"Initially I thought I'm going to have to do something for my health. Balance was an issue, I had high blood pressure, and I had been diagnosed with diabetes. I thought somehow I've got to turn things around, so I wanted to do something for myself. It's an investment in my health and I'd rather spend it on preventative health.

Nicchia Alvear

Nicchia has many health challenges but finally put herself first and prioritized her health. Living in a rural area, the personal connection and support has been so valuable for her to make the progress she needs to help improve her health and her overall pain levels and mobility.

"It was taking me a lot of time to get out of bed. I'd take my painkillers and then go back to bed until they would work. I didn't have a very good morning routine set up then. I tried and started working on one, but when I started training with you, I was able to really cement in a great change in my mornings and in my every day. That included doing new exercises, classes and being accountable to yourself."

"I didn't know if the doctors would write me a letter for clearance and if you would accept me in your over 50s training group, I'm really elated. I think it's been a real life saver for me to continue to improve my health with your guidance and all your support, the whole team."

Heather Gordon

Heather has finally found the right fit for exercise. She loves training at home and can't believe how much she is now enjoying exercising.

"I don't like the idea of going to a gym. So I decided to give it a go. I find it is just the right sort of fit for me. The focus on health and safety and really just improving my lifestyle was a big part of it for me."

"Small groups and often one-on-one sessions has been perfect for me. It makes me feel confident that I'm doing things safely and correctly. They push you just the right amount and give you the right amount of challenge. Working with other people in this age group makes it feel like it's doable."

"The appointments give you the right amount of accountability. I can feel the difference in my balance, and I can feel the difference in my strength, and that's motivating me to keep going."

John Roberts

John had concerns initially about online training, but now knows it works perfectly well for him. He loves the attention he gets in the live semi-private personal training sessions and loves the ease and convenience of doing it in the privacy of his own home without the travel time to and from a gym.

"I had just retired. I was feeling lethargic and lacking energy. I had the time. Working in small groups is a great advantage, the trainers are very attentive and always there to help you. You're not lost in the crowd and get constant attention when you need it."

"They continually ask you if you have injuries or sore spots so you don't do damage to yourself. I found the program very well-tuned into my individual needs. It's great working with people my same age. I feel comfortable and relaxed in the environment."

"I have more energy, less nanna naps. I'm more motivated and want to do everything I can to maintain my fitness level. I feel better. People say I look different, and that I look well. I feel well. I can feel the results."

Gina Mammone

Gina has had a wonderful journey with us and has achieved an amazing transformation. She loves the age-appropriate exercises that keep her well and mobile. She isn't the biggest fan of doing cardio, but enjoys the low-impact cardio that the program includes. She loves the balance work we do and sees this as an important part of the program to prevent falls.

"After a year of being locked down, I had found that my mobility had become challenging, I was unable to walk up stairs, all my joints were in pain. Even when I tried to do things like walking. I couldn't do the things to get me through day-to-day life."

"Most other programs were age groups where I couldn't keep up. I needed to do something about me. I wanted a program that was enabling for me."

"I've enjoyed doing my sessions from home. It was a great opportunity, to set up a dedicated area for my private gym in my home. I still feel like I'm part of a group with other people trying to achieve goals, even though it's a personal journey for me. Even though it's on my own, I don't ever feel alone."

"I can see improvements due to the consistency that I've created and the routine I've created. I can get off the floor easier. I can have a laugh with the trainers. I don't feel intimidated at all by the environment."

Karen Cooke

Karen has been training with TBFT for 10+ years now! She initially trained in the studio but transitioned to training online during lockdowns and now does a combination of both. Before starting at TBFT, she was working long hours and weekends, was physically exhausted and overweight and often skipped meals. She finally made the change and did something for herself. And we're glad she did!

"It had to work around my work, I needed flexibility. Total Balance, was flexible, I could change days and times around my work. This was important for me to stick with it. Joining TBFT was the best thing I ever did for myself."

"The 50 plus strength builder program involves working in small groups with people of similar ages. This means we have similar needs. There are age-appropriate exercises. And although we have similar needs, exercises are always adjusted for the individual."

"The trainers always check-in with us before a session. They may give us specific stretches to do. They continually check in, and ask us how our weights are feeling, they comment on our technique, and tell us what muscle groups we are using. It's a two-way conversation between you and the trainer."

"Each trainer has made a commitment to know you, your goals and your needs."

Jackie Cousland

Jackie is a pleasure to train, and she has made drastic improvements in her posture and strength in a very short space of time. She is feeling mentally healthier, has more energy and is blown away by her improved mobility and flexibility!

"I was feeling run down, had difficulty getting out of bed in the morning, my joints were stiff, my mobility getting in and out of the car was getting more difficult. I'd noticed my shoulders were hunched over and I was becoming stooped, occasionally getting a sore back. I wanted to halt that progression and possibly improve my situation."

"I'm finding it really good to work in small groups and getting to know other people who are in my same situation. Because they are the same age, they've usually got the same factors holding them back, and I wasn't keen to do it by myself."

"It's good having a trainer to sort out the program for you and adapt it to the individual. Because each program goes for several weeks, by the time you get to the end, they change it, and you don't have to think about it. It's really great to have the trainers there to motivate you and run the program."

"Working out from home has been really convenient. No travel time. No sharing equipment and wiping it down. It's just easy to attend."

"My core is a lot stronger; I'm not getting a sore back anymore. My flexibility is not great still, but it is improving. I'm standing taller, I'm not stooped over, and my shoulders are squared. My balance has improved - drying my toes in the morning is not a problem!"

"My mental wellbeing has improved from the exercise."

Wendy Daugher

Wendy now has so much more energy, strength and enjoys that she can now be more active with family and friends. She is loving the changes she is seeing and is now able enjoy her life a lot more. Well done Wendy!

"For the last number of years, I've just been feeling unfit, tired, lethargic, not sleeping well. Just lacking in energy to do all the things I wanted to be doing in life. It was time to make a change."

"It's been really great working in small groups at TBFT, with a few others my age. The personal attention we get from Rob and from Mitch, is great. They are able to adapt exercises to suit what each of us need. They are able to challenge us, but in a safe way so we use correct techniques and avoid injuries."

"I love the variety, there's a really good combination of strength, low impact cardio, flexibility, mobility and balance training. It's been great for me because I've had a few injuries in the past, and as I've gotten a bit older, there has been limits to my mobility. I've noticed improvements in all of these areas. I'm feeling stronger, more flexible and able to do all the things in my life more easily."

"It's a very supportive, safe and enjoyable way to train."

Zoe Beck

Zoe was hesitant about training from home but is really enjoying it. She is loving the convenience. She is enjoying that the workouts are challenging, but also energizing, so she can still enjoy the rest of her day without feeling exhausted.

"I had been a member of gyms throughout most of my adult life. But had let it slip with the time constraints of my family. I was finding my body was getting quite sore when I tried to do any exercise. I had tried a couple of boot camps and they just weren't for me. I needed something more suitable to my age group."

"It's really good working in groups with similar age people. Because we have similar interests and similar things going on with our lives."

"The trainers are great, they're really fun and approachable, and always ready to modify an exercise if you need it. It's always challenging, but not to the point where you can't walk for the rest of the day or the next few days."

"I like the weights-based exercises. The cardio is challenging - you certainly feel like you've done a workout, but you're not doing heaps of running or burpees and all these really difficult exercises. They are modified to suit your age, but still really challenging. The stretching has been fantastic, and the balance work - I've found that really beneficial. It's interesting to push your body and to realise that you can actually have a really good physical workout without having to be totally exhausted by the end of it."

Kelly Sharples

Kelly loves the more patient approach we provide, which is supporting her goals to break her dieting cycle. She loves the convenience, the support, and the age-appropriate exercise. Her training has even helped her get back on the tennis court!

"I just needed to break the cycle of yo-yo dieting. And I have the challenge of dropping and gaining weight often. I think that I basically needed encouragement to know it's ok to drop the weight slowly, and that way I'll eventually get the best results over time."

"The trainers provide really great ideas on how to succeed. I don't feel judged, I just feel like I'm there to get fit. I'm finding the workouts perfect for this stage of my life. I am getting a lot stronger, and my tennis game has improved. I can now do a Pilates class without too many aches and pains."

"I really enjoy the mobility focus and balance. It just feels really good to get that movement back in your body."

"Working out in my house has been great. Even though it is online, I've met some really great people. Everyone is really lovely."

Tracey Tyler

Tracey has been a member with us for many, many years now. Initially at our studio, but after moving more than an hour away she transitioned to our online program. She now loves the flexibility, convenience and comfort of training at home.

"I find the balance and mobility segments really good. It's a bit of a wakeup call, and as you age it's really vital. It's something that is missing in a lot of other exercise programs."

"I love training online. It saves me so much time. It's great to be in my own home exercising. I feel stronger in myself. I feel my posture is improving. I have built an awareness of how I move on a daily basis, and I find that some of the techniques you use in lifting weights carry across into daily activities."

It all starts with the decision to get started. Take your life to a whole new level.
